Social Board Game

Wed Apr 29, 2009, 6:08 AM
Yesterday my school revealed the results of the competition.
I won first place in the graphic design category!
Since there isn't a limit to how many entries one can have, next year I'm going to take the category by winning 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place. I already have two of my entries done for next year. Ha ha.

Well, it's official...

My board game series was accepted in the art competition at my school. Everything came out just about as well as I had imagined (of course there's always room for improvement). I presented 5 of the 11 board games - Guess Who, KerPlunk, Clue, Connect 4, and Yahtzee - that all featured complete versions in my own twisted style, including the swastika die.
I'm not sure exactly when they'll reveal the winners, but I'll post it as soon as I know. I talked to the judges to get comments about my piece and they all loved it. I may even get an internship at the graphic design studio where one of the judges works.

Update: Picture added.

Board Games

Tue Feb 10, 2009, 10:58 PM
As the series is drawing to a close, my work has only begun. Every year my school holds an academic competition covering all majors. It's a time where students do presentations, play instruments, recite poetry, and of course, display artwork.
For OPUS, as it's called, I plan on submitting my board game series. Not just the pictures, no that would be too easy. My plan is to actually CREATE each and every (if time permits) board game. It might be challenging when it comes to the Swastika die, but I am going to do my best to make this series fully functional. My idea is to present the project on a table with all the board game boxes stacked (using the designs I've already created) with the games strewn all over the table.
If you have any ideas to help me out, (ie. the Swastika die, the perfection game) please let me know.

Wood Tribe of Elmanti

Sun May 28, 2006, 10:55 PM
I'm in a creative mood again! Here are the latest creation in a series I'm calling the Wood Tribe of Elmanti. All of the characters live inside giant carved-out trees. A select group protects the citizens of the tribe of a hundred individuals deep in the forests, secluded from most civilization. This group of warriors specialize in different weapons that range from battle axes to magic.

On a side note, I think that I might create a costume of Alex for this Halloween...
